Kendrick Lamar can say hello to the mainstream. Last night, he hit The Late Show with David Letterman to perform, “Poetic Justice.” Check the performance sans Drake below.
Shit sounds even better with a live band. Love the musicians in the TDE hoodies too.
I stumbled upon that Chris Brown and Rihanna episode of SVU. That shit was turrible! So I perused Youtube and saw that Trinidad James dropped the video to his official “All Gold Everything (Remix).” Check out T.I., Jeezy, and 2 Chainz in the video below.
Maugs out here making videos for a stack, I swear. And I see the bike returned. Can’t wait to see the visual to “Females Welcomed.” Check out Trinidad James’ mixtape “Don’t Be S.A.F.E.”
After a few mixtapes and a cameo in a BET Hip-Hop Awards Cypher, Iggy Azalea released an official first single from her debut album. It’s titled “Work” and details her past and future. Check it below.
After I got past her delivery, I started to warm up to Iggy. This is about what I expected from her based on other songs I’ve heard. The voluptuous Aussie’s debut album, The New Classic, is set to drop soon. You feeling it?
Well look what he have here on this lovely Friday. Kendrick Lamar has decided to drop a visual to his uber popular track, “Poetic Justice.” Check the quintessential West Coast video below.
I’m slightly obsessed with this song and the video has elevated my obsession. Love the way this video was shot and presented. Kendrick Lamar is consistently impressing with his videos (see: Swimming Pools (Drank), Backseat Freestyle). Even though Drake phoned-in his appearance, literally, it still works.
One of the more interesting and charismatic rappers to come out of Chicago lately, Chance the Rapper is continuing to build his buzz. He released a new track titled “Acid Rain” much to the delight of fans. Check it below.
If you don’t know who Chance the Rapper is, google him. I saw him perform live twice and by the end of his set, he had entire crowds rocking with him. So catch up and download his mixtape “10Day.”
Miguel deserved more than a short performance at the Grammy’s. He had one of the biggest songs of 2012 with the annoyingly-catchy “Adorn.” His album Kaleidoscope Dream was faaaar better than Channel Orange, though it was also decidedly more traditional R&B. Okay, I’m done ranting about that. He’s released a new single, “Candles in the Sun” that’s reminiscent of “What’s Going On?” in the sense that it’s commentary on what’s going on in the world. Check the black and white visual below.
Nice. If you haven’t heard his stellar album, make sure you take some time to buy or stream on Spotify. You won’t be disappointed.
Elle Varner is still pushing her impressive album, Perfectly Imperfect. Following her Grammy nomination for “Refill,” she’s decided to release her next single, “Not Tonight.” Check it below.
This song was an early favorite of mine from the album. We won’t get into why… But if you haven’t listened to or copped the album yet, do yourself a favor and check it out!
