I’m actually really feeling this track. The Weeknd shines on this track, but it’s still apparent this is a Wiz Khalifa track. The Weeknd is releasing his debut album, The Trilogy, November 13, 2012. It will be a combination of his three mixtapes plus some new material.
Speaking of albums, Wiz Khalifa has decided on a release date and dropped the official tracklist to his sophomore project. Check both below.

Is Killa Cam trying to make a comeback? He’s been getting features like it’s 2005 again. The album is set to be released December 4, 2012.
Frank Ocean released a new track titled “Blue Whale” via his official tumblr page. Be forewarned, he’s definitely rapping on this track. Decide if you’re feeling it below.
Life goes on, that’s one thing about it. I’m not sure how I feel about the track though. It feels a little depressing, though that’s fitting for Frank Ocean tracks. Anywaydoe, his debut album channel ORANGE is out, cop it (and read my review).
Since I first came across Kendrick Lamar (1/4 of the Black Hippy Movement), I thought he was booooring. I felt like in this era, you have to buy into the artist’s personality as much as their music to really be a fan. And Kendrick‘s personality was like watching paint dry. And then you press play on his projects and his features and realize that he expresses himself best on a track. And I swear, since that first interview I caught a couple months ago, I’ve noticed he’s opened up way more. Check his interview with DJ Whoo Kid where he talks about his fans, his music, and starting trends. Check it.
He’s so much more likable after watching this. And it’s so funny to me how “Swimming Pools (Drank)” has become a drinkers anthem when it’s really a cautionary tale. I also had the pleasure of attending Kendrick‘s concert last night. He brought out Lupe Fiasco. Check out my cellphone picture and official footage of that moment below.
His new album good kid, M.A.A.D. city drops October 22, 2012. I will be copping.
I was a little sick last week so blogging was the least of my concern. So no Foto Friday or Video of the Week, my bad. Welp, Juicy J finally released the pretty PG version of his ever-popular track “Bandz A Make Her Dance.” Lil’ Wayne and 2 Chainz make appearances too. Check it below.
Considering the song is about strippers, I was expecting a little more
ass clapping dancing.
Sidenote: you can buy that “Turn Up” double cup Juicy J is promoting HERE.
How long has it been since the last Missy Elliott album? 7 freaking years! After hearing her on “Nobody’s Perfect” from J. Cole‘s debut album, it was clear fans were wanting more. Welp, her and Timbaland partnered up again to release TWO new tracks much to the delight of her fans. Check them both out below.
The first, “9th Inning” find Missy and Timbo trying to resurrect music as it’s life is now in the proverbial 9th inning.
The second, titled “Triple Threat,” proclaims Missy as a triple threat. Check it.
How much did we miss them? I’ve always appreciated them for contributing something different than what’s hot at the moment.
Bonus: Missy and Timb have also been making their radio rounds discussing everything from the state of music to Drake‘s obsession with Aaliyah. Check out the interview below with my favorite morning radio show, The Breakfast Club.
Franky Baby made his debut appearance on Saturday Night Live this past weekend. He performed “Thinkin Bout You” with the assistance of John Mayer. He then performed a shortened version of “Pyramids.” Check em below.
These performances are the first since Frank Ocean‘s performance at the VMAs earlier this month. Did he do well?
Following his appearance and performance of “Pyramids,” Mr. Ocean took the opportunity to release the video tot the second half of his single,”Pyramids.” John Mayer makes another appearance. Are they bffs or something?
Be on the lookout for nips if you’re watching at work. It’s a trippy video.
I actually wouldn’t have minded a full 10 minute video. And who’s gonna be the first strip club owner to rebrand their spot as “The Pyramid.”
VIDEO OF THE WEEK: Ciara’s New Video for “Sorry” + “Promise” (in case you forgot how awesome it was)
I must admit, I had written Ciara off. I haven’t really like any of her music since “Promise.” I’m assuming a lot of people had similar opinions since her latest single, “Sorry,” is reminiscent of the sound of “Promise.” It has that 1992/Teddy Riley vibe. I rock with it. Check it below.
What do you think? I think the song is hot. And in case you need a reminder of what “Promise” looks/sounds like, check it below.
Her new album, One Woman Army, is set to drop December 4, 2012.
