MUSIC WORLD: Diamond Selling Rap Records
With 2Pac‘s recent inclusion into the Diamond Club of Best-Selling Rap Albums, I’ve decided to dedicate a post to the other rap albums that have also sold more than 10 million copies. They are…
Outkast’s double-solo album, Speakerboxxx/TheLove Below. Check out one of my favorite videos from the album.
Next up, Life After Death from the big homie Notorious B.I.G. has also sold more than 10K.
Eminem is lucky enough to have two entries in the Diamond Selling Club. One for The Marshal Mathers LP (a personal favorite) and the other for The Eminem Show. Check two videos from him below.
The surprise, to some, of the group is the inclusion of MC Hammer‘s Please Hammer Don’t Hurt ‘Em album. But it certainly earned it’s place on the list.
And of course, I had to include a feature from 2Pac‘s Greatest Hits album. One of my personal favorite 2Pac videos, don’t judge me:
Despite rumors, Nelly has not sold more than 1oK albums domestically, though he has far surpassed 10K internationally.
Editor’s Note: Though this post is about rappers, it is still interesting to note a few other entries into the Diamond + status of the RIAA: Michael Jackson’s Thriller; TLC’s crazysexycool; Whitney Houston’s The Bodyguard Soundtrack & her debut album Whitney Houston; Boyz II Men’s II & Usher’s Confessions
