Nicki Minaj is still working hard for her CD sales. This Saturday, she was the featured guest on “Saturday Night Live” and did not disappoint. She performed twice, contributed to a digital short, and had a skit. When I heard she was going to be featured, I was interested to see how her antics would translate to the small screen. Check it.
First, her digital short with the hilarious The Lonely Island guys: “The Creep”
Next, she spoofed Blacksploitation films while combining classic horror stories: “The Bride of Blackenstein”
Finally, she performed “Moment for Life” and “Right Thru Me.”
My opinion: her contribution to “The Creep” was great. Her wigs are just becoming comic fodder though. Props to her having a successful appearance on SNL.
Standing at least a foot below six feet and seven inches, that didn’t stop Bow Wow from hoping on the ever-popular “6’7” beat. I was surprised by his effort. Check it.
“Since I’m in the family, just throw it on the Rush card…”
Really Shad? Was that a reference to Angela Simmons? Either way, I actually liked his interpretation of the beat. Your thoughts?
DOPE OR NOPE?
Onika Maraj and Aubrey Graham have released the highly anticipated video for “Moment for Life.” From the entire Pink Friday album, this is one of my favorite tracks. Check the storybook video below.Vodpod videos no longer available.
I actually liked the video. Far better acting than “Right Thru Me.” Your thoughts?
While I was perusing Necole Bitchie, I came across a fierce photoshoot of Khloe Kardashian for YRB Magazine. She displays edgier looks and bucks against the common conception that she’s the “ugly” Kardashian sister. Check photos and excerpts of the interview below.
How do you balance the fine line of what is personal versus public information of you?
Because my family and I do reality TV, that line is very blurred. I try to be as balanced as possible by my surroundings. Having the same childhood friends help you with that because they keep you grounded.
What do you feel is the biggest misconception about you?
Hmmmmm. Good question. I’m not sure, but when people meet me they normally have three things to say… 1. ‘Wow you are so tiny. You aren’t fat! Ok…’ Weird, but thanks, I guess? LOL 2. ‘OMG, you are so sweet!’ 3. ‘You aren’t that tall!’ Everyone that I meet thinks I should be 6’3” or taller. So funny, but I guess compared to Kourt and Kim I look super tall. I’m 5’10” and they are about 5’0” and 5’2,” so I do look tall. I’m really just normal and they are tiny little girls. LOL.
People think you have such a tough girl persona, what gets under your skin?
When people come up to me and feel like they can say just about anything to me, [it] really gets under my skin. I might be tough, but I’m still a person and still love to laugh and have fun.
What do you have in store for us in 2011?
The year is full of surprises. There’s a new show with Lamar and I and a new unisex fragrance that he and I are both sooooo proud of. That’s just a peek.
Perez Hilton conducted the interview. You can read the whole thing over at YRB Magazine. She looks great!!
The rumor mill is buzzing with the possibility that Willow Smith could be tapped to remake the very popular tale of a red-haired orphan. “Annie” was orginally a musical that premiered in the 70s. It was later made into a very popular movie in the 80s. The movie was then remade, again, in the 90s.
Considering the recent success of Will & Jada Pinkett Smith‘s hand in the remake of the “Karate Kid,” I could see this movie being quite successful. There is no word whether it’s official yet. But Jay-Z is also rumored to have a hand in the movie since Willow is singed to his label and he famously sampled “It’s the Hard-Knock Life.” What are you thoughts? Could it be a successful venture?
After many day of speculation, Shannon Brown officially confirmed that he and his R&B love Monica have tied the knot. He was suspiciously seen rocking a wedding band during a recent Lakers game. Check the video.
Wow! I respect the fact that they didn’t take the opportunity to make their nuptials a spectacle. Best wishes to both of them.
