Monthly Archives: October 2010
I was hesitant to post this when I first stumbled across the videos. First, because I’m not the biggest fan of Rihanna, especially musically. And since this is my blog, I post what I like. Also, because there’s no surprise her performance would suck. Ha! Anywho, Rihanna served as the musical guest for Saturday Night Live last night. She performed two songs and digital short. Check it.
First, the digital short.
The only good thing about this digital short is it could actually be a Rihanna song. I didn’t find her or the skit particularly funny though.
She also performed “Only Girl in the World.”
I think her voice gave me a headache, she was so off key.
She also performed “What’s My Name.”
She starting to dress a lot like Katy Perry (her bff) in my opinion. I like this song much better though. Rihanna really needs to work on her vocals and stage presence though. She can be boring to watch perform. But I guess she’s making money, so who am I?? lol
(NEW) MUSIC WORLD: Kanye West x Jay-Z x Pete Rock x Curtis Mayfield x kid cudi x Charlie Wilson “The Joy”
Kanye West is back at it. He recruited a bevvy of seemingly random individuals for his latest G.O.O.D. Friday offering. This track features Jay-Z, Curtis Mayfield, Pete Rock, kid cudi, and a G.O.O.D. Friday favorite Charlie Wilson. It’s titled “The Joy.” Check it.
Smooth. When Kanye West first announced G.O.O.D. Fridays, he said he would offer a new track every Friday until Christmas. I wonder if he will keep his word. Either way, make sure you cop his new album (whatever the title is) November 22, 2010.
Two Nicki Minaj posts in a row, my bad. But I swear this one is worth it. Nicki Minaj sat down with MTV to discuss her album and specifically spoke on a track featuring Slim Shady (Eminem‘s alias). The track is titled “Roman’s Revenge” and will be featured on her album Pink Friday. Check the video of her discussing the track then listen and download below.
Vodpod videos no longer available.
No subliminals here… sounds like Nicki Minaj is clearly coming at Lil’ Kim. I love the track though outside of the obvious attempt for punchlines (a la Big Sean). Word is, this will be her next single from the album. You can read the full lyrics HERE. So is it DOPE or NOPE??
In related news, Nicki Minaj has also released the tracklist to her new album Pink Friday set to drop November 22 along with Kanye and Jay’s greatest hit album. Check it.

2. “Roman’s Revenge” feat. Eminem
3. “Did It On’em”
4. “Right Thru Me”
5. “Fly” feat. Rihanna
6. “Save Me”

Will you be copping??
I caught this video earlier this morning, but I was waiting for a decent copy to surface, not the the TwitVid version floating around other blogs. Welp, patience is a virtue. Here’s Nicki Minaj‘s new video, “Right Thru Me.” She is joined by one of the most handsome men I have ever seen and even flexes some of her acting “skills.” Check it.
Yeah, that acting is suspect. So is that hair. But I like the video and song. Your thoughts??
Odd combination to me. But N.E.R.D. and T.I. teamed up for a track from Nothing. It’s titled “Party People.” Check it.
Yeah, not sure I’m feeling T.I.‘s contribution on this song. The album hits stores next week, November 2, 2010.
In semi-related news, it’s been no secret that T.I. would be returning to prison. He’s been doing a small promo tour in anticipation of the release of his album. He also released the new title to his album. Probably because King Uncaged isn’t really relevant anymore…Check him on the Rickey Smiley show below.
So the new album title is, No Mercy. T.I. has also been dropped as a spokesman for AXE and Remy Martin as a result of his recent legal foils.
With so much hoopla surrounding LeBron James‘ decision to join the Miami Heat, it would only seem natural that he’d finally voice his opinion of the disdain in a public forum. Enter Nike’s new commercial. In the commercial, LeBron directly comes at the critics and naysayers by retorting, “what should I do?” I love the commercial. Check it.
The commercial is aptly titled “Rise” featuring a portion of the Maya Angelou poem, “Still I Rise.” I love the idea of the commercial and I can’t wait to see the response from Cavalier fans.
