MOVIE WORLD: Tyler Perry’s Newest Film

Tyler Perry has confirmed his newest movie project For Colored Girls Who Have Considered Suicide When the Rainbow is Enuff. Whew! It’s based off the VERY popular play by Ntozake Shange. Tyle Perry has cast a talented group of actresses.

I have read the play and found it quite interesting. The play is actually a series of poems unlike a traditional play where there is an exchange of dialogue. The play deals with intense issues. The cast includes: Janet Jackson, Mariah Carey, Whoopi Goldberg, Phylicia Rashad, Jurnee Smollett, Kimberly Elise, Kerry Washington, Loretta Devine and Macy Gray.

It will be interesting to see where the film is going to take these series of poems. Halle Berry, Beyonce, and Oprah were all rumored to originally be a part of the cast, but I guess ish happens. The movie is rumored to be released Janurary 14, 2011.

Until then, make sure you catch Why Did I Get Married Too? next weekend April 2, 2010.
